A keynote speech by Marc Benioff, the CEO of Salesforce, marked the beginning of Dreamforce ’19 held on 19th November 2019. Here’s a glimpse of key announcements made during the event.
Two flagship apps with Apple and the next-generation of Salesforce Mobile SDK:
The Salesforce Mobile App
This iOS app is powered by AI and delivers a powerful new user experience enabled by Einstein. It includes Siri shortcuts and Face ID along with advanced analytics exclusively curated for iOS.
Trailhead GO
It is the first-ever iOS and iPadOS app for Trailhead. It has more than 700 training modules that cover in-demand business and tech skills that empower learners to skill up anywhere and at any time.
Salesforce Mobile SDK
This new SDK allows Salesforce developers to build and deploy native Salesforce apps for iPhone and iPad.
Expanding strategic partnership with Microsoft
Salesforce is addressing local data security, privacy and compliance requirements by expanding its partnership with Microsoft and adopting Azure as their public cloud provider for Marketing Cloud. Moreover, users will be able to share Salesforce records directly within Microsoft Teams.
Customer 360 Truth
With Customer 360 Truth, users will be able to break down silos between different departments like sales, marketing and business development. Using this, customers will be able to offer relevant product recommendations and curate personalized marketing plans.
Einstein now has a voice
Salesforce announced the integration of voice technology in Salesforce Customer 360 Platform with the following:
- Einstein voice assistance
- Einstein Skills
- Service Cloud Voice
- Einstein call Coaching
Einstein voice assistance will be available on all Salesforce apps. Einstein skills enable developers to build custom voice-powered apps. Service Cloud Voice unifies phone, digital channels and CRM in real-time into Service Cloud. Using natural language processing, Einstein Call Coaching helps in identifying keywords in sales calls for a better understanding of market trends and competition.
The Salesforce and AWS strategic alliance
Salesforce promised to achieve interoperability by exploring ways to integrate Einstein Voice Builder compatible with Amazon’s Alexa and other voice devices. They also announced in-demand skills development.
Salesforce will now offer Amazon Connect as its contact center technology in Service Cloud Voice. They also showcased AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials, new content on Trailhead that will enable training and certifying IT professionals to become proficient in the cloud.
Salesforce Evergreen for the serverless platform
The latest addition to the Customer 360 platform, Salesforce Evergreen, helps users to build apps and connected experiences using their Salesforce data and business logic. Developers can also enhance productivity by using open standards like Kubernetes to develop responsive experience. With Evergreen users can:
- Build event-driven apps using Customer 360 data and services
- Leverage microservice patterns, data services, and languages like Node .js, Java, and Apex to build custom apps
- Accelerate time to market using Kubernetes
Salesforce Data Mask for sensitive sandbox data
The company announced Salesforce Data Mask that will help users to secure data not just in production or live environment but also at sandbox level. Data Mask allows users to anonymize and delete protected data from their sandbox environments so that the users can assure their clients of confidentiality and run tests on their data with high fidelity substitute data.
