Hello. Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of our podcast series. In this podcast, we will talk about RPA and how it solves business processes. With me, I have Wilton Rogers III. Wilton is a businessman. I came across RPA in 2017. I saw how RPA could help businesses. My approach was to see how I could bring down the downstream. With years of trial and error, I was able to build the company to support businesses that want to implement an end-to-end RPA solution. Now, we are RPA service providers of many services and programs.

I am Zalak Patel, associated with Softweb Solutions from the last six years and primarily focusing on digital transformation initiatives. That includes technologies such as RPA, AI, data analytics and so on.

Question 1: RPA as a game changer is not a new thing, of course. What are the key challenges it is addressing? How is it transforming business processes?

Answer: Customer experience is where RPA changes the game for businesses. The customer experience is good. You get them to understand how it works. RPA changes everything when it comes to RPA automation in general. We get the customer to understand if they haven’t experienced the outcomes of RPA implementation. From that point, we see the execution of RPA has exploded from that point on.

Question 2: What are the underlying factors in RPA adoption that are roadblocks while decision-makers consider RPA?

Answer: The education of the power of RPA is huge. So, being educated on how it works makes it much easier for users to adopt RPA. The ones that are not adopting RPA lack understanding of what RPA implementation is capable of. They don’t have a clear picture of how RPA works. So, enough education is a must-have to overcome the roadblocks of RPA adoption. On the other hand, those who understand the power of RPA implementation get instant relief. In all, an appropriate RPA consultation is the way to go.

Question 3: There are a lot of talks between RPA, intelligent automation (IA) and hyper-automation. Are these terms connected or different in nature?

Answer: Hyper automation is the known work now. People don’t really understand how it’s being used. RPA is the heart of hyper-automation and IA. There is also artificial intelligence, machine learning, low code and no code – such different types of processes use some task automation tools. That’s hyper-automation. Knowing how hyper-automation works is beneficial to take full advantage of it.

While in RPA, we automate every manual task using the RPA solution. Once automated, people have more time to understand how they can integrate AI, ML and all the other types of automation applications. But RPA is the key to allowing you to do that because with RPA, you don’t change anything else. In all, RPA implementation can automate software and applications that people are using. Once we automate all that, we can start focusing on hyper-automation. So, RPA is just a sector of hyper-automation, but RPA is one part we need to implement right away so we can spend time with hyper-automation.

Hyper automation stands at the top and RPA lays the foundation of hyper-automation.

Question 4: Some companies have adopted RPA. And some companies are adopting it down the line. What are the key barriers while adopting RPA? Or what are the common challenges that companies, from SMEs to large enterprises, face?

Answer: The common challenge is identifying the right processes for RPA adoption. For that, we look to decision-makers on how they have been involved with the main process. In many SMEs or large enterprises, the communication between them has not been on the same page. Then, the lack of learning or understanding of RPA limits the opportunities for automation, especially RPA.

So, identify a manual process. Conversation on what pieces of that process, if automated, can save your team’s time, effort and company costs is the key. That allows us to adopt RPA much faster and deploy it sooner. So, education or communication is the big thing to address, especially when you go on higher levels.

Overall, we need a more synchronized approach between teams or departments. That is the way to go to see more value while adopting RPA.

Question 5: Around us, we see many advantages or benefits of RPA. Are there any disadvantages, minuses, or drawbacks of RPA adoption?

Answer: The minuses again, as we discussed earlier, are not having enough education or consultant, especially RPA service providers, to walk you through the process. That delays big opportunities. Most people try to do the research themselves. Of course, there will be different processes in different size companies. So, doing research may not make sense directly. That’s what the

Understanding how RPA implementation can help your company to transform is where companies need RPA consultants. Whenever companies do not take RPA consultation, they usually realize significant delays in the future. So, the right partner or person is the key element.

Question 6: What are the critical RPA trends for 2023 that businesses will witness?

Answer: There are a variety of crucial RPA trends for 2023. The first is education resources. There is more education and more opportunities for RPA. So, a lot more people can investigate RPA implementation quickly now.

There are two parts, software and service. The service part is where once people understand it and implement RPA, it’s growing fast. The service part of the RPA industry is overtaking the software part. People are doing a lot more implementation. And people are smarter with the software part. In the beginning, they will see how RPA implementation helps them.

Question 7: Would you mind naming industries with the highest RPA adoption?

Answer: We see a lot of attraction or use cases in accounting, finance and the banking industry. In manufacturing, the supply chain is pretty big. Then, in law offices, real estate property management and retail. Further, insurance and healthcare industries are also adopting RPA at a high rate.

Question 8: Is there any golden advice or a thumb rule you would like to recommend for successful RPA implementation?

Answer: Businesses should think about the approach before attacking RPA implementation. So much RPA software is on the block now. They need to understand what that software can do for them. Instead of focusing now, I recommend concentrating on the future. Understanding how RPA implementation can help you in the future is the key. That can transform your business.

Make sure you are surrounded by the knowledgeable people in the industry before you invest heavily into RPA. And when you do, you need to understand how to use it. Your ROI is immediate, then.

Thank you, Wilton. We got a lot of valuable advice from you. Thanks very much again, Wilton.
